Welcome Readers!

Shelves of Shalom Publishing recently added two new authors to our shelves: Marilu Bechard and Meredith Moodie! We wanted to take a few minutes to learn about these lovely ladies and their writing journey. Join us as we interview Marilu and Meredith and get the inside scoop!

SOS: Welcome Marilu and Meredtih! We’re thrilled to have you onboard at Shelves of Shalom. Could you tell us a little bit about your writing journey? When did you decide to start writing and what has been your path to publication?

Marilu and Meredith: Marilu has been writing since she was a young child within the 1960’s as her natural form of expression. She has completed two science fiction novels for which she never sought publication. Meredith is an avid researcher who has enjoyed writing notes and narratives as a natural part of her process for articulation and discovery most of her life. She has enjoyed research starting with the Bible eventually leading to many other topics connecting to and from the Bible. A burning drive and desire to share some of this information in a light fun and digestible manner began mine and Marilu’s journey to the creation of The Book of Nachalah.

SOS: The Book of Nachalah is going to be published through Shelves of Shalom Publishing soon. Could you please tell us some things about this story to get the readers excited?

Marilu and Meredith: There are many concepts completely foreign to the average reader of fiction that are found within the pages of The Book Of Nachalah. While placing its genre into the category of Historical fiction, most will find the narratives outside their understanding of history and culture. This is a whole new way of looking into our hidden past that very few are motivated to investigate or consider despite the viable evidence all around both scripturally and practically. Most will not pick up a dry research book but some might read this Novel in fiction form, bringing light to the reality of Christ’s current kingdom going back through history both spiritually; within each believer, and physically; manifesting outward to the physical kingdom reign, simultaneously in its fulfillment. Excitedly, His kingdom is still very much active and not something only in some unknown future or lost to us in our hidden past. This novel shows the practical application of faith and trusting Him in His kingdom even now despite being in this present deceptive testing time of HaSatan’s release.

SOS: Who has been your favorite character to write and why did you enjoy them so much?

Marilu and Meredth: Marilu really enjoys the journey of Abigail as she grows from a shallow and immature woman into a wise and insightful one walking in close relationship with her Savior and always having a great sense of humor along the way. Meredith’s favorite character to follow is Justice. His joyful desire to explore and map out the kingdom while still remaining close and committed to his family is a delicate balance that worked in this narrative making him a likable and memorable character. His enduring faith even after losing his beloved Ruth speaks volumes of his trust in his Savior despite his overwhelming grief.

SOS: What is your writing process like? Is it tough co-writing a book? How do you go about sharing the load?

Marilu and Meredith: This venture is really a partnership that goes way back as trusted friends sifting through the many layers of lies we discovered around us. Beginning as an investigative study, we would talk, compose notes, and pray when the need arose. A fun memory was of us trying to build a Biblical timeline of events. We quickly realized that couldn’t be done with all the changing of dates and times both prior to and following the ministry of Jesus Christ (Yahushuah Hamashiach). We both just naturally gravitate to the strengths of our gifts and continued in those strengths through to this endeavor as well. We just know each other’s dance really well and move accordingly in leading or following to accomplish this project. We meet at least twice a week to discuss the enfolding plot and the details surrounding some of the sensitive topics at hand.

SOS: Besides the Bible, do you have a favorite book? Favorite author?

Marilu and Meredith: Neither Marilu nor Meredith have a favorite Novel until now with The Book of Nachalah. The journey they have taken together on this project is one of a lifetime that they have thoroughly enjoyed sharing together and can’t wait to see how the series ends.

SOS: Please tell us a little bit about what you’re working on right now.

Marilu and Meredith: Currently, we are working on the second book within this series developing existing characters and bringing new ones in as we near the end of the peaceful era within the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

SOS: Other than Shelves of Shalom Publishing, where can people find you and your books?

Marilu and Meredith: While still developing our platforms, we anticipate some of the most common platforms to sell including Amazon, Lulu, Barnes and Noble etcetera. We are pretty active on You Tube and Facebook among people also investigating truths hidden from us.

SOS: Thanks so much for answering our questions Marilu and Meredith! The theory of the Milenial Reign of Jesus already happening is incredibly fascinating! We’re looking forward to sharing The Book of Nachalah with the world. Not only does it promise to be an enjoyable read, but it should get people diving into their Bibles and this growing field of research.

Now, we’d like to invite the readers to explore the Shelves of Shalom website to learn a little more about Marilu, Meredith, and The Book of Nachalah!
